Mental Health Awareness
Mental Health Awareness in Housing Services – Best Practice Series:
This 2-part workshop will focus on improving participants’ awareness of mental illness along with providing practical approaches for working with clients who might be facing these types of challenges. During the sessions, participants will review signs and symptoms commonly present with certain mental illnesses with the purpose of identification for more effective response. Participants will review best practice approaches for tactfully managing client interactions and engage in discussion about mental health services and the benefits of partnering for successful referrals. We have invited 1 guest lecturer and 3 guest presenters who are excited to take part and share about their unique client-directed services.
This workshop requires participants to complete a pre-workshop assignment. We will be asking participants to make a list of mental health services in their community prior to attending the workshop.
