Best Practices Series – Income Supports & Employment in Housing Services
This 2-part virtual workshop will focus on expanding participants’ knowledge of income support options for Ontario residents and introduce participants to employment options and strategies that clients may be able to access. During this workshop, we will review Ontario Works (OW) and Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), including related benefits your client(s), may be eligible for. Participants will also hear about employment services and supports, and review approaches for proactively discussing these options with your clients. Participants are invited to engage with these topics during interactive and collaborative sessions.
Eligibility: You must be employed by an agency or organization within Toronto
Cost: $90/per participant

Community Conversation: Supporting Clients through Winter and COVID-19
Ongoing Covid-19 pandemic restrictions have caused significant shifts in the ways our agencies traditionally offered services to clients. Moreover, with ongoing lockdowns, we are all having to learn new and innovative ways of keeping informed and up to date on the changing landscape of services and supports available to our clients and their varying and unique needs.
During our first Community Conversation of 2021, we will discuss these impacts as well as some of the initiatives and resources currently available for referral. We will think through how the City of Toronto Winter Plan for People Experiencing Homelessness helps – including challenges identified by advocates – and use small group discussions to share strategies we have each come up with on how to support clients through the challenges associated with COVID-19 and winter.
Join EYET as we facilitate a community conversation, for housing professionals, to share skills and discuss this issue. This event will take place online to discuss:

Baby and Me: These sessions are a targeted infant stimulation program for babies with their parents/caregivers. Join us for songs and rhymes and activities. All Baby and Me sessions will end with mini-parent chats to provide resources for your family. Programming will be geared to infants aged 0 – 12 months.
Learning By Doing!: Each week the EarlyON staff will be holding interactive programming with hands-on learning activities for you and your child to observe or participate in. Upon registering to the program, EYET will email you the activity and material list to gather to enjoy the activity with us!
Parent Workshops – Please join us for an opportunity to come together with members of the EYET EarlyON team and other parents. We will be discussing everything from child development, providing support tools to you if requested, or just to grab a coffee and chat with each other. As the world around us starts to open up again, we want to keep our relationships strong with our community members and we hope you find this a good way to do so.
Physical Literacy: These sessions will get your child ages 0 – 6 in guided movement and play. Physical Literacy sessions will end with mini-parent chats to provide resources for your family.
Story Time: Join your EarlyON friends for Story Time! A program for children featuring books, puppets, music and movement, to encourage Early Literacy skills.
Toddling Time: These sessions will get your little movers and shakers playing, dancing, and singing. All Toddling Times will end with mini-parent chats to provide resources for your family. Programming will be geared to toddlers aged 9 – 24 months.
Virtual Circle Time– Our interactive online circle time will have your little one learning rhymes, singing songs, and plenty more!
