Landlord Engagement Network Meeting

Tenant Associations & Landlords

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues and the shared challenges of renters across the GTA are highlighted, the role of tenant associations has garnered increasing attention and interest.

Tenant associations are a means to connect people within a building to one another to strengthen their collective capacity to ensure their rights and needs are being met by the landlord. But what does a tenant association look like? How are they formed? And how can a building’s tenant association achieve a constructive and productive relationship with the landlord?

Join us as we invite the Federation of Metro Tenants’ Associations to help us understand the role and relationships of tenant associations and their relationship with landlords. This workshop will help tenants, and housing professionals and landlords to answer:

  • What are tenant associations?
  • How are tenant associations formed?
  • What are the benefits of joining or forming a tenant association?
  • How can tenant associations and landlords have a productive relationship?
