EarlyON Child and Family Centres Update

Recently, the Ministry of Education announced some changes to COVID-19 health and safety measures for staff, parents/caregivers, children and visitors attending EarlyON Child and Family Centres.  We want to share with you how EYET will be moving towards a gradual return to normal operations.  This is going to take some time, so we thank you for your patience and cooperation as we all move forward together.

On Monday, March 21, 2022, the following changes to EYET’s COVID-19 Policies and Procedures will take effect: Use of Masks and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

All EYET staff will continue to wear a proper-fitting non-medical mask at all times, save and except when staff are on their scheduled breaks. While optional, we encourage parents, caregivers and children to continue wearing their own proper fitting non-medical mask for all in-person program activities.

Screening for Symptoms

We want to remind you that parents/caregivers and/or their child(ren) cannot attend an EarlyON Child and Family Centre if they are ill.

While COVID-19 screening will no longer be documented, all individuals, including children attending programs, staff, parents/guardians, and visitors will still be required to complete a self-screening tool each day, before arrival at a centre.

A screening tool can be downloaded on our EarlyON CFC homepage or by visiting our EarlyON Facebook page so you can use it at home and prior to arriving at the centre.

Pre-registration

Effective April 4, 2022, pre-registration will no longer be required for indoor and outdoor drop-in programs.

Enhanced Cleaning and Disinfecting

We continue to follow our COVID-19 protocols for enhanced Health and Safety practices (e.g. hand hygiene, disinfection of frequently touched surfaces, etc.).  These processes will remain in place until June 2022.

We will continue to reach out and update you on next steps as they occur.  Thanks for your understanding and cooperation in this regard.
