Best Practices Series – Income Supports & Employment in Housing Services 

This 2-part webinar will focus on expanding participants’ knowledge of income support options for Ontario residents.

During this workshop, we will review Ontario Works (OW) and Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), including related benefits that your client(s) may be eligible for. It will also introduce participants to skills and strategies for searching and securing employment opportunities that may be available to clients. 

Participants will hear about employment services and supports, and review approaches for proactively discussing these options with clients.

Participants are invited to engage with these topics during interactive and collaborative sessions.

Eligibility: You must be employed by an agency or organization within Toronto 

Cost: $90/per participant 

Date & Time:  Part I – Wednesday, April 12, 2023, 9:00am to 12:00pm & Part II – Friday, April 14, 2023, 9:00am to 12:00pm

This is a virtual event taking place on Zoom. Limited spots are available.

Landlord Engagement Network

EYET’s Landlord Engagement Network for Eviction Prevention will be hosting a virtual workshop on  Rooming Houses: Licensing and Zoning

This workshop will cover a brief history of rooming houses in this city, including an overview of past and current licensing and zoning frameworks. In addition, the latest updates on rooming house by-laws will also be discussed.

Join EYET and special guest speaker Pablo Escobar from Dixon Hall Neighbourhood Services as we explore the ins and outs of rooming house licensing and zoning. Gain valuable insights and deepen your understanding of this important topic and how it relates to your work in housing services sector.

Guest Presenter Information: 

Pablo Escobar is an experienced social worker with a focus on housing and homelessness. With over 15 years in the field, he has dedicated his career to developing solutions for vulnerable populations. Pablo holds an MSW and an MA in Social and Political Thought. He has managed transitional housing programs for homeless seniors and oversaw drop-in programs for street-involved individuals. Currently, as Manager of Housing Supports in the Housing Department at Dixon Hall, Pablo brings his expertise and passion for social work to make a difference in the lives of those most in need. He is a valuable leader in this field and a valuable asset to any organization.
